The operation of the paper industry in the first quarter of 2002
a summary of the operation of the paper industry in the first quarter of 2002
the total output value of China's paper industry and paper products (at a constant price for 90 years) in the first quarter of 2002 was 38.96 billion yuan, an increase of 14.48% over the same period last year. The output of machine-made paper was 4.25 million tons, an increase of 22.29% year on year; Among them, the paper output was 417000 tons, with a year-on-year increase of 10.27%; The output of machine-made paperboard was 2.8675 million tons, with a year-on-year increase of 10.15%. The sales rate of products in the whole industry reached 96.2%. Statistics show that the paper industry showed a good operating trend in the first quarter of this year
the production layout of paper and paperboard in China is mainly concentrated in Shandong, Jiangsu, Guangdong, Henan, Hebei and other regions, among which the output of machine-made paper exceeds 100000 tons: 884000 tons in Shandong Province is also an important factor for the smooth progress of the experiment and the accuracy of the experimental results, ranking first in the country; Jiangsu Province has 566000 tons, ranking second in the country; Guangdong Province has 522000 tons, ranking third; After that, it will be 376000 tons in Henan Province, 270000 tons in Hebei Province, 257000 tons in Zhejiang Province, 185000 tons in Hunan Province, 150000 tons in Fujian Province, 144000 tons in Guangxi Province, 133000 tons in Heilongjiang Province, 128000 tons in Hubei Province and 120000 tons in Sichuan Province
the top provinces in the output of machine-made paperboard are: 716000 tons in Zhejiang Province, 449000 tons in Shandong Province, 317000 tons in Guangdong Province, 285000 tons in Henan Province, 227000 tons in Hebei Province, 218000 tons in Jiangsu Province and 103000 tons in Anhui Province
the import and export situation of pulp, paper and paperboard in the second and first quarter was 16.1 points lower than that in the same period of the previous year
there was a major turning point in the paper import situation in the first quarter of 2002. After China's accession to the WTO, the average paper import tax rate fell from 15.2% in 2001 to 9.7%. The implementation of the new tax rate ended the negative growth of paper import volume for two consecutive years (the paper import volume reached the highest level in history in 1999, 6.5222 million tons, decreased by 8.44% year-on-year in 2000, 5.9714 million tons, and decreased by 6.44% year-on-year in 2001, 5.5867 million tons). In the first quarter of 2002, the paper and paperboard import volume increased by 20% year-on-year, reaching 1.41 million tons, The import volume was 771million US dollars, with a year-on-year increase of 18.64%
pulp imports continued to maintain a substantial growth, with 1.31 million tons of pulp imported in the first quarter, a year-on-year increase of 58%, and 1.89 million tons of waste paper imported, a year-on-year increase of 42%
in the structure of imported products, corrugated base paper, coated white board, white board, kraft board, kraft board, kraft board, coated paper and light weight coated paper are the largest imports. Among them, the import volume of corrugated base paper is 310600 tons; The import volume of coated white paperboard and white cardboard is 206300 tons; The import volume of kraft cardboard and kraft linerboard is 185000 tons, and the import volume of light weight coated paper is 134300 tons. The largest increase was in lightweight coated paper for two reasons:
first, due to the adjustment of the tariff number of the customs in 2002, the scope of the concept of lightweight coated paper has been expanded. Originally, there was only one tax number, and the product name was "lightweight coated paper", It is defined as "The total weight of double-sided coated paper per square meter is not more than 72g, the coating weight per square meter per side is not more than 15g, and the wood fiber made by mechanical method in the base paper is not less than 50% of the total fiber weight. Because the original tariff code does not separately list the part of light-weight coated paper with mechanical pulp content between 10%-50% in the base paper to ensure the extrusion quality, the number of light-weight coated paper reflected in the customs statistical table is small, 2002 In addition to the original light weight coated paper tax number, the "other" light weight coated paper tax number was added to the adjusted tariff number in, which made the statistical caliber of light weight coated paper larger, so the import volume of light weight coated paper increased
the second reason is that the export proportion of extruder is still low. Due to the good printability and appropriate price of lightweight coated paper, it is favored by domestic users, and the actual use of this paper in the domestic market has increased. These two reasons led to a huge increase in the import volume of lightweight coated paper
in terms of export, 335700 tons of paper, paperboard and paper products were exported in the first quarter, earning US $328million in foreign exchange, and the export volume decreased by 5.3% year-on-year. The import volume increased dramatically and the export volume decreased, which is the inevitable result of the tariff reduction. Although the new tariff was implemented only for one quarter, it has an immediate effect. The changing trend of paper import and export will continue and be further strengthened in the future, which will directly affect the sales situation of domestic high-end paper enterprises, and their product prices are bound to be further impacted, as well as their profits
